A group of researchers at the Intervention Centre Oslo University Hospital and Sopra Steria win the Microsoft 2017 Health Innovation Award for bringing Microsoft HoloLens technology into the operating theatre. The award was handed out during HIMSS 2017. A Sugical Navigation system developed at the Intervension Centre has been implemented on the HoloLens platform from Microsoft in collaboration with Sopra Steria. The goal is to improve surgery of liver cancer and heart deformities by visualizing the existing 3D model of the actual organ in Microsoft Hololens. The system is also used by cardiologists involved in treatment of congenital heart disease. Read more on our Twitter account @InterventionCen.
